The Feast of St. Berard and Companions (Wednesday)

This morning Janie and I did the final preparation for painting of the bookshelves, and then got a primer coat and one top coat on the woodwork.  We still need to paint the wall and cabinet backs, and get a second coat on the woodwork, but it’s coming.  Here’s a photo of Janie getting started on the primer coat and at the end of our efforts today.

In the evening, the Barrio family (minus Ronny, who is at sea) came over to help us drop the tub into place.  Here are a few photos of that.  Jenna and Ben got in the tub to help settle the tub into the mortar bed.  Megan took the photos.

We still need to make the supply and drain line plumbing connections, plug in the pump and the heater, and caulk around the edge of the tub (after the mortar base dries), but we’re thrilled with the way the tub looks.
